An Important Part Of Cabinet Organization Is The Management Of The Cabinet
- Jun 05, 2018 -

An important part of cabinet organization is the cabinet management line. There are three common cable management technologies:

Waterfall modeling

This is a relatively old wiring form, and sometimes it can also be seen. It uses the artistic image of "Huaguo Shanlian Cave" to hang the twisted pair directly from the module of the distribution frame. When it is neatly distributed, there is a very beautiful layering (24-48 twisted pairs per layer). line).

The advantage of this type of design is that it saves manpower and man-hours, but disadvantages are relatively large. For example, it is easy to damage the model when installing a network device, and even the phenomenon that it is not easy to install the network device in place; the weight of each twisted pair becomes a pulling force. At the back of the module. If the twisted pair is not bundled before the termination point, this tension may separate the module from the twisted pair months or years later, causing a disconnection failure; in case of a fault in the patch panel The module needs to be re-terminated. The maintenance personnel can only probe into the "drapery" for construction, sometimes wearing dozens of twisted pairs, and because there is no light source in both directions, it is not clear when the termination is made.

Reverse line

The reverse line management is performed after the modules of the distribution frame are terminated and pass the test. The method is to manage the line from the module to the outside of the cabinet, and also carry out the cable management in the bridge. The advantage of this method is that after the cable is tested, it will not be rewired due to the failure of a twisted pair cable test. The disadvantage is that the two ends (inlet and patch panel) have been fixed in the room. There is bound to be a lot of chaos in one place (usually at the bottom of the cabinet).

The reverse line is generally an artificial line, with the naked eye and hands to complete the line.

The advantage of reverse management is that the test is completed and you do not need to worry about the cable length at the rear of the cabinet. The disadvantage is that because the two ends of the cable are already fixed, a large amount of crossover between the cables will occur. It is very laborious to neatly manage and neat, and there must be a twisted pair between the two fixed ends. It is often under the floor (into the line) or in the ceiling (into the line).

Positive management

Forward line management is to perform line management before the panel is terminated. It starts at the entrance of the machine room and sorts the cables piece by piece until the module of the distribution frame. Terminate and test after cable management.

The goal of the forward management line is to form a horizontal twisted pair from the inlet of the equipment room (or the computer room network area) to the distribution cabinet to each 16/24/32/48 port distribution frame. The horizontal twisted pair harness of the bundle, all the twisted pairs in each bundle are all parallel (the crosstalk between the twisted pairs in a short distance will not affect the overall performance, because the bridge and the conduit are laid Most of each twisted pair, this part is scattered, is not parallel), all the bundles are all parallel; in the cabinet, each twisted pair of wires twists and bends to the back of each patch panel. The entire process still maintains the full twist of the twisted pairs in the harness. At the rear side of each module, the twisted pair corresponding to the module is drawn out from the bottom of the harness, and after being verified correctly, it is fixed on the bracket on the back of the module or in the module hole of the distribution frame.

The advantage of the positive management line is that the cables in the equipment room can be neatly arranged at each point, and no cable crossover will occur. The disadvantage is that if the cable itself has been damaged during threading, the test pass will not result in re-routing. Therefore, the premise of the positive management line is a sufficient grasp of the quality of the cable and the threading.

The advantage of the positive management line is that it is completely neat and parallel from the entrance to the distribution frame in the equipment room (network area or weak room of the host room), and it is very beautiful. The disadvantage is that the construction personnel must have sufficient confidence in their own construction quality. Only when they are basically not re-terminated, can they carry out the construction of positive line management.
